Liveability
Any experienced cruiser will tell you more time is spent living aboard in those delightful calm anchorages than on the High Seas passage making. Space, Headroom, Light, Ventilation, Storage becomes the desirable design requirements for dedicated Cruisers, and permanent Live-a board owners. Multihaven 37 has been designed with livability in mind, such as Queensize Doubles 6’6” Long, and with 4’10” over bunk headroom.
Designed with forward opening hatch ventilation to all berths and saloon.Saloon Headroom 6’4” with easy Hull access. Massive Saloon area for living and entertaining.
Polypropylene Honeycomb is not only used as a boat construction composite core but is also used for building construction applications where vibration and noise dampening properties are sought . Honeycomb composite sheet provides hull construction unequalled for strength, in fact, twice the compressive strength of foam at 2.6mpa, shear at .9mpa. vibration and, sound proofing plus insulation in one lightweight package.
That’s why the prestigious French Catamaran Industry have used Polypropylene Honeycomb for over 15 years. Polypropylene honeycomb now utilised by us, providing huge benefits in the Multihaven 37
Performance
Livability , but not necessarily loss of performance . Sailing to windward even without headsail, in fact 38% off true wind is effortless, as is tacking. Multihaven 37 will provide performance. It all comes down to power to weight ratios, and we’ve provided the ultimate strength of Epoxy/Composite throughout. Quadraxial glass layups internal and external. Strength with very light weight, and the hull form. Multihaven 37 will surprise and raise pulse rates
Affordability
The Multihaven 37 pulls the usually large Bridgedeck Catamaran purchase costs down to an affordable level. You can now afford to live the Dream.
KEELS.
Whilst desirable for deliberate grounding of Catamarans for hull maintenance, Keels also provide a section of sacrificial structure below the Main Hull, allowing fresh water storage low down and central in the Hulls, 400 litres. Freeing up valuable in hull storage space. Keels also provide some protection for drive systems
Skegs
Protects your Rudders from the regrettably ever increasing flotsam and jetsam encountered on the Worlds Oceans, and when beaching
Engines
The Multihaven is designed for twin 4 stroke XLS Outboard engines, Yamaha or Mercury. Mounted in elevator shafts within the main hulls placing the propellors in a conventional drive position eliminating cavitation. Easily retracted, when under sail. Outboard are light weight, vibration free and quiet, provide excellent economy, reliability and low cost when replacement is necessary. Multihaven easily cruises at 6.5 knots with twin 9.9hp thruster 4 strokes.
Bouyancy Chambers
The Multihaven 37 has an unprecedented standard of compartmentation with two collision Bulkheads forward and two aft in each Hull all watertight. Plus in hull buoyancy compartments, then there is the vessels composite core materials themselves, Hundreds of thousands of watertight air chambers provided by the Honeycomb.
Survey
Of course, the Multihaven 37 can be constructed to Queensland Australia Certificate of Survey 2C standard for Hull and Decks. An additional fee applies for certification.
Longevity
Accidents can and do happen, if you get that severe knock and rupture, water ingress is restricted to the exposed individual Honeycomb cells, unlike foam and timber cores which do take up water progressively. Timber type composite sandwich can rot, polypropylene won’t rot, nor like some foams delaminate or powder. We hate to think about any vessels end of life cycle, but it must eventually happen, regrettably even for the Multihaven 37’s we are so proudly building today. Polypropylene is a recyclable product. With a Multihaven 37 you are truly sailing at one with Nature.
